Teaching Philosophy
Developing a positive relationship with your students is tremendously important because it allows for an environment that students will find comfortable and will promote a willingness to learn. I believe in taking a humanistic approach where the students can add their own input into developing content. Content information will be learned and more easily retained when it is made relevant to students. This will be achieved by incorporating 21st Century Skills to students along side the content. Because of the acquired skills and knowledge, I believe my students will be successful in education and in life. I aim to be the teacher that can meet the needs of a diverse classroom. I will start by building the foundation for each and every student to be successful. As a teacher, I aim to exemplify respect, keep learning student centered and give each student a foundation to be successful and professional outside the classroom. I plan to incorporate humor at appropriate and professional times while promoting a positive classroom environment. |

Classroom Management Philosophy
In relation to my teaching philosophy, I would like to give choice to my students pertaining to the procedures, rules and regulations in the classroom. I will set my expectations and make them clear on the first day to avoid confusion and to make sure my classroom is off to a great start. From there, giving the students some power to make decisions on how to meet those expectations is important. Brainstorming in each class will give me an idea of the student's relationships, goals, behaviors, and their own expectations.

- I expect students to be respectful of themselves, their peers, and property in and outside of the classroom.
- I expect students to be respectful of the instructor, teacher and student aids, and any guests who enter the classroom.
- I expect assignments and tests to be handed in on time and follow late assignment protocol.
- I expect students to have high expectations for themselves. To reach their goals and work as hard as they can.
- I expect students to have high expectations of me as their instructor.
